U.S. Gymnast Shawn Johnson Captures Gold at Olympics
American gymnast Shawn Johnson captured a gold medal in the balance beam Tuesday, beating a field that included all-around champion Nastia Liukin, behind whom Johnson got one of her three silvers.
"It's the best feeling ever," Johnson, 16, said.
In all, the Americans won 10 medals in gymnastics; the U.S women won eight, compared to six for China.
Colts' Manning Shows at Camp
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning made his debut at training camp Tuesday, his first showing since having knee surgery five weeks ago. Manning showed in a jersey and shorts, with an elastic band around his left knee. The team practiced at its new digs, Lucas Oil Stadium. Reports said he appeared to be walking without problems. Head coach Tony Dungy said Manning might begin practice next week.
